#Beer #Review Kona Brewing Co. Fire Rock Pale Ale

This was a very interesting beer. The color was a soothing red-orange almost a copper color. The head was nice and fluffy, with heavy lacing rings all through the pint. The nose gave the impression of wheat bread, and corn with hints of vanilla and some floral hops. Upon my first drink if I hadn't read "pale ale" on the bottle I would have assumed this was an IPA, the flavors and characters in this beer struck me as such. The mouthfeel had a nice buttery texture but wasn't too heavy with the tingle of carbonation. This beer comes across as very perfumey with touches of vanilla with a tart finish and after taste. The more it warmed up the more floral and perfumey it became towards the end I felt like I was drinking the equivalent of walking thru the cosmetics department of a department store.

#Beer #Review Real Ale Brewing Company Full Moon Pale Rye Ale #txbeer

So I am a self confessed fan boy of texas beer and Real Ale from Blanco texas is doing a fine job with there brewery.
The Full moon Pale Rye ale is a good, good beer. It started with a nice thick creamy head, that had some body and presence. The nose was nice with notes of hops and sweet honey while being a little bready with tones of yeast. I put my ear to the glass and I swear I heard "drink me". It had a nice medium body complimented by a very smooth sort of creamy texture. The flavor was all about balance with good contributions from the malt, rye and hops but was over all pretty straight forward, the best words I could think were "this is a good beer" If you like american lagers or pale ales this is worth the whirl. .

#Beer #Review @RahrBrewing Stormcloud IPA #txbeer

If it's Rahr I'm going to like it. The Stormcloud IPA is a nice redish orange in color with a nice flavorful nose consisting of alchol, piney hops with hints of carmel and brown sugar laced the slight grassy overtone. The flavor is nice and balanced not to over powering in any department. I have gone through a slight masochistic phase with my IPA's, more bight and bitter the better, but this one comes off very friendly and inviting. There is a nice hop sting right up front that fades quickly leaving notes of citrus fruits orange/grapefruit. You wouldn't immediately say floral but as the beer warms some the flowers start to bloom. The Stormcloud has a pleasantly medium mouth feel and comes across very easy drinking.

I have recommended this beer to many people and over all it's pretty solid without be pushy and aggressive.
